Today, let's meet the artist duo behind Atelier Make. Jaimie Robson and Maya Ersan have been working together for over 10 years combining their Scandinavian and Mediterranean styles into unique creations. Based in Montreal, they create some of the most beautiful ceramics available in town.

Lucky you, you get to tour their studio and get an insider's look at the way they work, courtesy of Quartier Mode's Designer Chronicles series. Right away, you'll see why we're so proud to be working with them: passionate, talented and very friendly.

Our first encounter with Atelier Make was at the Souk@SAT. We fell in love with their products and display: the pastel colours, the beautiful patterns and textures, the clean and modern designs. Intricate designs for functional products. So we contacted them and headed over to their workshop to get down to business.

It was a great meeting: we left their workshop feeling very excited about this new collaboration. In fact, it was our first addition of a product to our collection of experiences. We had to break the rules: we couldn't help it when we met this extraordinary business run by two terrific women.

Au début, un peu de théorie pour bien comprendre les bases. Puis on déguste: chaque vin est servi d'un petit plat soigneusement préparé par leur chef. On analyse le vin puis on goutte le plat tout en se permettant de les critiquer. Cela nous aide à savoir quoi cuisiner et comment pour rehausser les arômes.

Alors qu'un caviste présente les faits, l'autre anime la discussion en lui posant des questions qu'on oserait pas poser soi-même ou d'autres qu'on ne saurait pas poser. On rigole, on apprend, et bien sure on boit et mange bien.

2h30, 6 vins, 6 bouchées, et un paquet de connaissances plus tard, on sort du resto avec une nouvelle soif de savoir.

Last year, our sweet tooth led us to the Cupcake Camp lineup. Never in our wildest dreams had we imagined that there were that many cupcake lovers in Montreal.
